June 13, 2023This week on Mr. Beacon we are talking with John Dwyer, the VP of Digital Solutions at WestRock, a sustainable packaging company. WestRock manufactures over 70 billion things each year, with more than 50,000 employees worldwide. As a company they are focused on reducing plastic waste, and they even plant two trees for every one they consume.
Our focus this episode is on the cardboard box, its advantages over plastics, as well as the larger supply chain potential with Wiliot IoT Pixels. We like to call this the Internet of Packaging. Innovations in this industry will help companies avoid unnecessary waste, supply chain bottlenecks, and even reduce the impact of foodborne illness outbreaks (which cost companies on average 30 million dollars per event).
